Room 204 [early evening]

Ben returned to the room from his afternoon salle training, dropped off dinner, and headed immediately to the shower.

He returned to two dozen messages on his comlink.

"Sithspit," he groaned as he read. "Who's in charge now?"

He should probably change out of a towel soon...

"Maybe she hadn't really thought that long-term with you?" Ben suggested. "Or she has and she didn't like the idea that there was some reality where you had a kid with Topher instead? Or some kind of combination of the two?"

Ben smiled sympathetically. "Maybe," he said. "It's not really an easy conversation to start: 'so our kid showed up. When are we going to get to making him?' Wouldn't blame most people for leaving a them-sized hole in a door trying to run from that."

Tony sighed, falling backwards. "Well, no time soon. This only made me more certain about using a condom. And avoiding crazy science that can give you kids."

"And just say no to cloning," Ben said. "I've seen a lot of sci-fi holodramas, and cloning yourself never ends well."

He reached out to tousle Tony's hair. "You two'll work it out."
