Ben nodded. "This generation will probably go for it," he said. "It's been enough time that it's not personally embarrassing. Just a planet-wide shame thing."

Ender nodded. "Of course, he could have come from almost anywhere," he said. "I don't think there's anything particularly Sith about Naboo."

"Me either," Ben agreed, moving through the exhibit to the explanation of why they picked their monarchs so young. "I think it helped him to be from such an innocuous place. No one was looking for evil."

"If anything, the planet radiates wholesomeness," Ender said. "Good planet marketing technique, I'll give them that."

Ben smiled and took a couple of deep breaths. "Yeah, but it's legitimate. It's nice to be here. None of the undercurrents of Coruscant."

"Well, there's a reason we don't have a vacation home on Coruscant," Ender said wryly.

"There are a few reasons," Ben said. "Same reason I've never taken you to Corellia."

"Is it that bad?" Ender asked.

"It's duplicitous," Ben said. "Smuggling culture means everyone's saying one thing and meaning something else, so it gives me a bit of a headache."

"Sounds like home," Ender said. He reached out absently to straighten out Val's shirt.

"Which is why we vacation here," Ben said, kissing first Ender's cheek and then Val's.

"We'll need to decide where to go next eventually," Ender said. "I'm still monitoring Speaker calls."

"Has anything caught your attention yet?" he asked.

"A few," Ender said, "But nothing that really jumps out when you keep the Hive Queen's demands in mind."

Ben nodded. "I don't mind waiting here until something good comes along," he said.

"I didn't think you would," Ender said fondly. "I'm the one pushing it."

"Well, it's been weirdly quiet in this galaxy, so it's not like we're dodging laser fire while we're here," Ben said. "It's a nice shift."

"You mean we can take the time to smell the flowers?" Ender said, with a faint smile. "Pretend to be Nabooan."

"I'm not wearing a poncho," Ben said. "I don't care how trendy they are."

"At least do something funny with your hair," Ender said. "Val will help."

Ben laughed. "Those weird poofs? No thanks. You first."

"I'm not the one with Naboo ancestry," Ender teased.

"Right, so I naturally fit in better. You should dress up," Ben teased back.

"I can dress up as a 22nd century Polish person," Ender said dryly, "As is my ancestry."

Ben snickered. "Well, it's got to be better than all this brocade," he said, gesturing at the coronation costume of the king before Padme.
